A groundbreaking ceremony was held Friday afternoon in Sheridan for a building that will be home to firearms manufacturer Weatherby, Inc. Sheridan Media’s Ron Richter has the details.
Weatherby President Adam Weatherby, and Wyoming Governor Matt Mead were on hand for the groundbreaking, along with numerous local and state dignitaries that were instrumental in recruiting the firearms manufacturer to Sheridan. The 100,000 square foot building in the Sheridan High-Tech Park is expected to be substantially complete early next year, with manufacturing scheduled to begin in the spring. Governor Mead commended the many different people and organizations that played a role in bringing Weatherby to Sheridan.
Adam Weatherby said that the decision to relocate to Sheridan was more than just a financial one.
Weatherby said that the relocation to Sheridan is a complete relocation, meaning that once the facility in the High-Tech Park is fully functional, and manufacturing is underway, their presence in California, one that began in 1945, will officially be a thing of the past.
